Eito is a Ukiyo-e artist living in the UK and is currently a medical student. He uses Foundation.app/@eitoasano as his base of activities to present contemporary Ukiyo-e to the metaverse. He participated in 36FUJI as “Neko Jigoku (Cat Hell)”.
“Neko Jigoku (Cat Hell)”
It was a reckless challenge to use Ukiyo-e to compete with the original work while everyone else was creating homages to Ukiyo-e, but it was fun to draw so many cats. Neko Jigoku (Cat Hell) was inspired by the well-known cat manga "Poneko". This is a story about a gentle world where there are only things cats like in this hell, and people who owned cats during their lives have to take care of them after their death.
Of all the collaborative projects I've been involved in, 36FUJI is probably the largest. The artists couldn't see each other's work until it was announced, so it turned out to be quite chaotic. I think this project reflects the vastness and uninhibited nature of the Metaverse.
This is an unprecedented form of art expression, and I recommend it to all creators. I think it would be more lively if music artists could also participate.
