The reason why I got into the NFT space is that I wanted to interact not only with Japanese creators but also with creators from other countries and also I wanted to share the Yokai culture that I’ve been familiar with in my hometown called “Shimane” prefecture to the world.
My collage has been created while in my head, incorporating a "Yokai" into a real-life setting. I made this art in the hope for the viewers to feel like they are encountering them in reality. I would like as many people as possible to find the numerous Yokai stories. Also, I strongly believe that “Yokai” mostly portrayed as the representation of “awe” should be recognized as something mystically attractive. I had come to create this work with the inspirational thought I came up with. This is the feeling that inspired me to create this work.
For me, art is a tool to connect with people around the world like music and anime. By using this tool, I am able to tell the people who see my artworks the story of the yokai, a story that is not told in words. So I believe that I can be a storyteller of folklores through this magical tool, art.
The reason why I joined this project is that I had been working on a series of NFTart on Yokai prior to this project. So I thought it would be a very good opportunity for me to see other Yokai art made by other creators.
